Below you will find videos of our dojo and garden, trips we have taken together, self-defense classes, and testing. Our videos are a way of remembering and showing respect for the hard work that these individuals have put into their training. These are only highlights and show only a fraction of what someone can accomplish with hard work and dedication.
You will not, and will never see, an instructional video of our system posted on the internet. I find this irresponsible and a potentially dangerous practice. I realize that YouTube is a wonderful place to find and learn about how to do almost anything. I utilize it myself quite often for research on how to lay cinder-block or fix a busted weed eater. However, instructing over the internet on how to harm another person is something I do not want any part of. I screen each of my students and perform background checks before I will teach them anything if I feel it is necessary. I see it as much more than just sharing my system to others that perhaps can't make it to class because they live too far away. What are they doing with this information? Teaching without transmitting the moral obligation and without explaining the potential legal and physical ramifications can lead to disaster. Imagine someone saying after being arrested for a violent crime that they learned what artery to cut or how to stop the heart by following your page, blog, or channel. Playing devil's advocate, I realize that someone with some basic knowledge might be able to get a sense of what someone is doing from one of my videos. However, ours’ are meant to do nothing more than to inspire others to better themselves and their lives through budo just as the ones in the videos have - so enjoy and be inspired.

2017 Senior Project
At the beginning of the 2017 school year, I was approached by a high school girl to become her mentor for her senior school project. She had no experience or real idea what to expect. At the end of the project along with lots of paperwork and meetings, she had to produce a video of her experience to show what she had accomplished. Even though most of her true accomplishments were lessons she learned about herself she was able to capture some of the physical techniques and ideas as well as a feeling of what it was like for her. This is the video she turned in. I am proud of her for what she has been able to accomplish mentally and physically in short a short time.
2018 Women's Self Defense Class
In late 2017, a group of approximately 20 ladies signed up for my 6 week women’s self defense course. In January 2018, the classes began. Over the course of 6 weeks, this group of ladies met every Saturday for a minimum of 2-3 hours. They learned a special skill set that included how to fall without getting injured, diffusing potential threats, striking and doing enough harm to get away, getting out of zip tie and duck tape restraints, use of weapons to defend themselves, and even dispatching their assailant when all else fails. These ladies bled, bruised, cried, and screamed their way through this 6-week course. This was an amazing group of ladies that I’m honored to have taught.
I spent many hours sifting through over 5 hours of video and hundreds of photographs. Halfway through the making of this shortened film, my video editing program crashed twice. On my third attempt to salvage the portions I had already spliced, I had to use a different video editing program. Unfortunately, the overlay text in the first half of the film could not be edited, thus the typos which appear. While I’m still a novice at video editing, this footage is not for the public but is really to show these women what they personally accomplished. However, Jennifer and I are so proud of each and every one of these ladies we also want to share their accomplishments to inspires others to fight back. Whether the situation is sex trafficking, domestic violence, date rape, child abuse, or a random attack, there are self-defense options for everyone.
